Updates will be far more reliable this year, but it's still not a bad idea to sign up for the mailing list to know when the site is updated!

What's new:

As proud new residents of Wisconsin, we voted in the Wisconsin primary a few weeks ago. (I voted for Obama, if you're wondering.) I was actually going to write about why I support Obama, but then I was listening to a CD mix just now and REM's "Camera" came on, and as a result I abandoned politics in favor of an inquiry into why, if I'm to be your camera, someone else would be your fish and whether the '80s band a-ha was really a Communist front.

Also, the snow is finally melting - not all of it, of course, but you can actually see the ground now in many places, and some brave flowers are starting to poke their heads up. Of course I'm sure there will be some sort of freakishly late snowstorm at some point, but still: Hurray Spring!!

The Real One

Jezebel: Celebrity, Sex, Fashion, Without Airbrushing.
Jezebel offers a feminist take on pop culture, whether it's Britney or Eliot Spitzer. Personally I love their "Fine Lines" feature, in which they "give a sentimental, sometimes-critical, far more wrinkled look at the children's and YA books we loved in our youth."

The Fun One
The Sneeze. I can't believe I haven't listed this one before; it's a great site that always makes me laugh (and I followed the saga of the tree brain with bated breath); the best place to start is "Steve, Don't Eat It!," in which Steve eats things that officially qualify as "food," but which you should probably not put anywhere near your mouth.
